The 2025 edition of the SNEC PV Power Expo – considered the largest solar energy fair in the world – came to an end this Friday (13), in Shanghai, China. The mega-event occupied more than 380 thousand square meters and had the participation of 3,6 thousand exhibiting companies from different parts of the world.

With a large flow of visitors, the fair once again demonstrated the strength, resilience and maturity of the global photovoltaic sector. Canal Solar was present at the event to closely follow the innovations that should mark the next steps in solar energy.

One of the highlights was the modules with back (BC). Companies such as LONGi and Aiko have announced that they will replace, in the short and medium term, all their TOPCon product lines with BC-based technologies.

Another highlight of the fair was the advances in battery energy storage systems (BESS). Unlike in 2024 – when products had very similar configurations – this year manufacturers presented a wider range of powers, ranging from 30 kWh to 250 kWh. Large-scale solutions, above 5 MWh, also attracted attention.

In the inverter sector, hybrid models dominated the launches. DAH Solar, for example, presented a solution that was already integrated with batteries. Solis launched a three-phase inverter aimed at the residential market, accompanied by a multifunctional smart port – which can be used in three ways: to connect diesel generators, integrate already installed solar inverters or act as a secondary backup port.

Other innovations seen at the event included rapid shutdown systems (rapid shutdown) and robotic equipment, with emphasis on a robot that automates the assembly of solar s – a solution aimed especially at companies that want to optimize the installation of photovoltaic modules, especially those with low performance in the assembly team.

Check out these and many other new features presented at SNEC PV Power Expo 2025 in the video below:
